Hi, I'm Richard, a 42 year old therapeutic counsellor (Dip.Couns, MNCPS Acc., MBACP) based in the West Midlands. I have been supporting clients with counselling and psychotherapy since 2020, both privately and within an agency.
I work with individual clients (aged 16+) for one-to-one sessions, and with couples seeking to explore and rebuild struggling relationships.
I have extensive experience working with a wide range of presenting mental health issues and with a diverse mix of clients in terms of social, cultural, and religious backgrounds.
I am fully qualified (Dip.Couns), and an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (MNCPS Acc.), and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP).
In addition to my CPCAB diploma in therapeutic counselling, I have completed further training in;
For anyone curious as to why I chose counselling, it may sound like a cliché, but I could not wish to be doing anything else with my time. Becoming a counsellor was a dream I held for 12 years, and I feel blessed to share so many transformative journeys with clients.
I have a sincere passion for my profession, continually striving to develop my skills and knowledge to offer the best possible support.
I also believe private counselling should be as affordable as possible, so I keep my rates as low as I can. I hope doing this enables more people to access counselling at the point of need and to not have to rely on lengthy NHS waiting times.
